MICHIGAN AUXILIARY POLICE ASSOCIATION 


Mission Statement

The primary purpose and objective of the Michigan Auxiliary Police Association is to advance and improve the benefits of its members, promote the understanding and cooperation between members of the Association and of professional Law Enforcement agencies with whom they interact, and further the value of volunteer Law Enforcement programs to the communities they serve by:

  1. Establishing legal authority for Law Enforcement agencies to conduct Volunteer Law Enforcement operations.
  2. Establishing legal authority for Volunteer Officers to perform their duties.
  3. Establishing recruiting standards.
  4. Increase minimum training standards.

The secondary objective of the Michigan Auxiliary Police Association shall be to set forth a standard to allow Auxiliary Units to be organized in municipalities, many of which may not have such organizations as of yet, and assist in legislation that may need to be set or amended.

The Michigan Auxiliary Police Association represents Auxiliary Police, Police Reserves, Sheriff Posse Members,
Michigan Constables, Court Officers, Civil Process/Judicial Enforcement, and Criminal Justice Students in all 83 counties state wide.
